Concerning the Rapides Parish Clerk of Court Office

We have moved into Phase 2 of the Governor's Reopening Plan. The access to the courthouse will continue as in Phase 1. All services for the Rapides Parish Clerk of Court will be conducted on the first floor of our office. Click HERE for details about Phase 1 which will continue now we are in Phase 2. Additionally, click HERE for a checklist for Marriage License or click HERE for a checklist for Birth and Death Certificates. These checklist can help answer questions and ensure you have the proper and necessary information.

In accordance with the Governor's Proclamation and the Rapides Parish Police Jury's Public Notice, there will be limited access to the courthouse. So, in order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community, per Court Order (Click HERE), extended Court Order (Click HERE), Police Jury Public Notice (Click HERE), our office is "open" for calls, mail, and drop offs at the back doors of the Rapides Parish Courthouse from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding legal holidays) effective Monday, April 6 at 8:30 a.m.until further notice. Notice Regarding COVID-19

The Rapides Parish Clerk of Court's office is open, however all business will be conducted at the door and the public will not be allowed to enter the office. As announced previously, we have suspended issuing birth and death certificates. We are taking these steps in order to comply with Federal and State guidance to protect the health and safety of the public and our staff. We suggest you call to see if we can handle the matter over the phone or electronically. Many answers to questions can be found here on our website. You can also utilize our online service (details on our website). We are sorry for any inconvenience and we thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.

Vital Records - COVID-19

At this time the Rapides Parish Clerk of Court's Office will not be accepting in-person birth or death certificate requests.

You are advised to request copies from Vital Records in New Orleans. You may contact them by mail, online at www.louisiana.gov, or (504) 593-5100.
