The Criminal Department manages all aspects of pleadings and filings in criminal matters(felony, juvenile, misdemeanor, and traffic) for the 9th Judicial District Court. The deputies work closely with law enforcement, prosecutors, and other agencies. This department issues bench warrants, subpoenas, notice of bond forfeiture, and victims notification as well as maintain court minutes for each docket.

Fax filings are not accepted.

For assistance contact the LA Bureau of Criminal Information in Baton Rouge, LA. An attorney or pro se applicant must do their own research on the case and decide how to complete the Expungement form.

Inital filings from the attorney or pro se applicant must provide the following:
  • Motion for expungement forms filled out with attachments (Bill of Information, incident report, court minutes/disposition).
  • State background check (contact Baton Rouge State Police).
  • Fingerprint card (can be obtained from the Sheriff's Office).
  • Contact the Rapides Parish District Attorney's office for certification letter and possible fee waiver.
  • If applicable: a letter of completion of probation, e.g., (felony-verification of first offender pardon or Misdemeanor-termination letter from probation officer.
  • For Motion To Set Aside 893/894 Conviction a Certified copy of the motion and order of Dismissal, if needed.

Expungements - Regular - NOT (Misdemeanor conviction for a first offense possession of marijuana)

Fees: (Non-Refundable)
Payment maybe made by United States Postal money orders or money orders issued by any state or national bank or by checks issued by a law firm or an attorney.
  • $250.00, for Louisiana Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information.
  • Plus $200.00, for Rapides Parish Clerk of Court.
  • Plus $50.00, for Rapides Parish District Attorney.
  • Plus $50.00, for Rapides Parish Sheriff Department.

Motion to dismiss prosecution has the possibility of 2 seperate $50.00 U. S. Postal money orders made payable to the Office of Motor Vehicles for transmittal or repository letters.
